Throughout our schools, students may participate in age-appropriate learning where Indigenous voices are centred. Students and staff are also encouraged to wear orange on September 29 as a visible reminder that every child deserves to feel valued, respected, safe and connected.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation provides an opportunity to pause, listen, learn and reflect on how we can engage in reconciliation throughout the year. We appreciate the support of our students, families, staff, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners as we continue this learning together.

Join us in wearing orange, remembering the children who were lost, and honouring survivors and their families. We encourage our BRSD families to take time to learn together, listen to Indigenous voices, and reflect on the meaning behind .

We are committed to acknowledging the past and moving toward healing and understanding through learning about the history and impact of residential schools on Indigenous communities.

This New Teacher Mentorship initiative invites collaborative work to support streamlining access to resources and providing guidance and learning opportunities to teachers new to the profession and our division.

Health Care Aide Dual Credit Opportunity, in partnership with NorQuest College, for BRSD students in Grade 11 and 12

This is a great opportunity for all students interested in healthcare!

In partnership with NorQuest College, students will gain foundational skills that transfer across multiple medical fields. The high-school-friendly workload has been very well received by BRSD students. There are still several seats available. Tuition is covered by BRSD.

Course Snapshot:
• Credits: 3 High School (HCA 3401) + 3 College credits
• Co-requisite: ELA 20-2 (60%+)
• Format: 40 hours online (asynchronous) + 6-hour lab on Sat, Nov 28 at St. Mary’s Hospital (Camrose)

Students must keep personal devices, such as cell phones, off and out of sight during instructional time. BRSD implemented an administrative procedure in September 2024, to align with government regulations supporting student focus and learning.
