As the final bell rang on the 2025–2026 school year, we close not only another chapter, but the final chapter in the remarkable 100-year history of Campbellton Middle School.

For a century, CMS has been more than just a school. It has been a place where students learned, grew, discovered their passions, built lifelong friendships, and created memories that will last forever. Generations of students, families, teachers, and staff have walked through these halls, each leaving their mark on the Cougar legacy.

While it is difficult to say goodbye to a building filled with so many memories, we are grateful for the century of learning, laughter, achievements, and community that CMS has provided. We celebrate the traditions that have shaped us and the people who have made this school such a special place.

As we close the doors of Campbellton Middle School, we look ahead with excitement to a new beginning. In the fall, students and staff will come together to open Restigouche River School, carrying forward the spirit, pride, and sense of community that have defined CMS for the past 100 years.

To all former and current students, staff, families, and community members—thank you for being part of the CMS story. Though this chapter has come to an end, the memories and legacy of Campbellton Middle School will live on for generations to come.

Once a Cougar, always a Cougar. 💙💛

After 33 years of dedication, leadership, and service to Campbellton Middle School, we are celebrating the retirement of our principal, Mr. Michael Graham.

For more than three decades, Michael has been a constant presence in the halls of CMS, impacting the lives of countless students, staff, and families. His commitment to education, his support of students, and his dedication to our school community have helped shape CMS into the special place it is today.

As we close the chapter on Campbellton Middle School’s 100th year and prepare for new beginnings, it is fitting that we also recognize Michael’s remarkable career and the legacy he leaves behind. His leadership, kindness, and unwavering belief in students will not be forgotten.

On behalf of the entire CMS community, we thank him for 33 incredible years of service and wish him a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement.

Congratulations, Mr. Graham! Enjoy this next chapter—you have certainly earned it.

This year, Grade 8 students had the opportunity to experience carpentry as shop classes returned to CMS!

Throughout the year, students learned valuable woodworking skills, including measuring, sawing, sanding, drilling, leveling, staining, and following important shop safety practices. As their confidence and skills grew, students applied their learning to create a variety of functional projects, including shelves, spice racks, cookbook shelves and serving trays.

Students also learned how to use our CNC machine to carve a special tribute to both CMS and LBS into a custom spice rack. This unique project will be displayed and used in the culinary technology classroom at the new Restigouche River School, serving as a lasting reminder of the two schools coming together.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills our students demonstrated throughout the year. Their finished projects are a testament to their creativity, perseverance, and dedication.
