Today at Wee Watch, we wear orange.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we take time to reflect, learn, and honour Indigenous children, families, and communities. Through stories, conversations, and age-appropriate activities, we help build a foundation of kindness, empathy, and respect.

Every child matters — today and every day.

We see you, parents, guardians, caregivers.

Remembering your "why" can be difficult in the tough moments, so be intentional about taking time today to remember what—or who—you're doing everything for.

You got this 💙💚

What’s your child’s favourite food?

Did you know kids are born with about 3x more taste buds than adults? That’s why flavours can feel extra strong to little ones! Over time, their taste buds change—so keep offering a variety of foods (even if they don’t love them right away).

What food always makes your child smile? 💙

✋ Happy Left-Handers Day! ✋

Whether your child is a lefty or a righty, their little hands are still growing into the amazing tools they’ll use for writing, creating, and exploring.

As puts it:

“Look at the differences between a typical preschool child’s hand and a typical 7-year-old hand. Want to know why a preschooler isn’t able to write yet? Their hands are still developing! So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!” 🎨🧩⚽

From playdough to puzzles, ball games to dress-up, all these activities help hands grow strong and coordinated. When they’re ready to write, they’ll show you—no rush needed.
