Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: Elgin Street Public School
Grades 2 - 7
Cost: $5/ticket

Click on the green "Register Now" button which will take you to our CampBrain portal to complete the registration.

You can also purchase your ticket at the Centre (116 Rouse Avenue) between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

MEET THE STAFF AND SCHOOL COUNCIL EVENTS

Our school will be hosting a Meet The Staff event on Sept 13, 2023 from 6-7 p.m.
You are invited to come with your child to visit the classroom and see all the wonderful things they have been doing in the first week of school.
Entry will be through the front doors of the school.

On that same night, we will be having our first School Council Meeting.
This will happen after the Meet the Staff event at 7:15 p.m.

🦅Spirit Wear Orders🦅

From Sept 6-Sept 22, we have the opportunity for families to purchase school spirit wear through Schooltee.com

Instructions are simple. Please follow this link for a .pdf copy of instructions.

1. Go to schooltee.com and input the Access Code: ELGI.CAM

2. Choose your desired garment(s) and add to cart.

3. Go to checkout and complete the prompted "Create an Account" steps to continue to checkout and input payment details.

4. You will receive an email receipt upon successful completion of your order.

5. Orders ship to the school and will go home with your child when they arrive. If you'd prefer to pickup your order from the school office, please contact us at the school [email protected] or 519-622-0611.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th, 2023

Supervision begins at 9:05 am. Our staff will greet students in the school yard to begin our new school year. All school staff will be wearing bright yellow vests so they are easily identifiable.

To help make the process easier for all involved, we have class signs to help facilitate families' ease of finding classes.

KINDERGARTEN CLASSES - Please meet in the Kindergarten area at the side of the school. Staff and students are permitted inside the Kindergarten area. Parents are welcome to wait outside the fenced area on the grass, to keep the walkway clear.

PRIMARY ENGLISH - Please meet in the following locations:

1A, 1B, 1/2A, 2A, 2B, 3A - on the tarmac and baseball field, at the back of the school.

JUNIOR ENGLISH - Please meet in the following locations:

3/4A - on the tarmac area in front of Portable 1 (the portable on the left when looking at the portables at the back of the school) 4A and 5/6A - on the tarmac by the basketball nets 4/5A - on the tarmac in front of portable 3 by our parking lot

ALL FI CLASSES - Please meet on the soccer field

2/3AFI, 2/3BFI, 4/5BFI, 5/6CFI

ACE STUDENTS - Please meet in the fenced area by your classroom, near the staff parking lot.

STUDENTS IN THE YMCA PROGRAMS - YMCA staff will bring them to their classroom teachers outside.

BUS STUDENTS - Our school staff will meet these students at the bus and bring them to their classroom teachers outside.

Just a reminder school starts Wednesday September 6th.

Thank you to the students at Elgin Street Public School (Cambridge, Ontario) for sharing their classroom seedling. They are all planted and growing now in our backyard garden at Greenway Chaplin Community Centre (116 Rouse Ave). You are welcome to drop by and see them anytime!

Additional information about Halloween

As was communicated last year, we will be taking the same approach this year for Halloween activities:

*If a child wears a costume, they will be welcomed at school
*There will be no parade or school-wide activities that highlight costumes
*Classes may participate in learning activities, arts and crafts
*Halloween will be recognized but not centred so that all students feel comfortable coming to school
