Today we met a wonderful couple, Phoebe and Mike, from British Columbia. Phoebe’s a teacher, and as we talked, one thing became clear: the challenges facing public education aren’t unique to Ontario. They’re being felt across Canada.

No matter the province, education workers are seeing increasing student needs, large class sizes, stretched resources, and staff doing everything they can with too little support.

If we want Canada to remain the strong, thriving nation we’re proud of, we must invest in public education. That means investing in our students and in the education workers who help them learn, grow, and succeed every single day.

Public education is a national priority and it’s time we treated it that way. 🇨🇦❤️💜

This week at the bargaining table EWAO-ATEO made progress on our ground rules. While there’s still work ahead, this is an important step forward.

We’ll be requesting additional bargaining dates in the near future and will keep working toward a fair agreement for our members.
