Feminist Cities are for everyone!

But what does 'wanting a Feminist City' actually mean? Dr. Leslie Kern's book, Feminist City, describes many ways a city can plan its infrastructure and services to meet the needs of women and gender-diverse individuals. With the municipal election close on the horizon, we've highlighted four tangible ways a city can become a feminist one:

🏞️More free, open, public green spaces to enjoy safely with facilities and infrastructure that are accessible and hospitable.

🚌Transit routes that allow for free transfers and that can accommodate caregivers’ schedules to daycares, LTCRs, and work.

🏠Accessible, affordable housing is abundant, and people experiencing gender-based violence do not have to choose between staying housed and keeping safe.

❄️Sidewalks, transit stops, & residential streets are prioritized for snow removal, becoming accesible to navigate whether using a wheelchair or with a stroller.
