Project Name: My Hoa Orphanage, Binh Dinh province

With your kind and generous support, CVBF is able to continue our ongoing support for My Hoa Orphanage.

A newly renovated courtyard area (a space where the children gather and play) and repair and upgrade to the kitchen facility was possible and completed on February 12, 2026, around Lunar New Year, Year of the Horse, in collaboration with Smile of Compassion group.

The project provided a muchly needed long term, comfortable living space and environment for the children staying at the orphanage. The kitchen that was severely deteriorated and leaking in many areas has now been upgraded and the roof replaced. The caregivers at the orphanage are now able to better prepare and serve healthy meals for the children.

My Hoa orphanage has been home to at least 43 orphaned children ranging from newborn to 14 years old. The children are lovingly cared for by Venerable Nun Minh Tam. They are now properly housed, nourished and cared for because of your support. Thank you for making the facility a safe, warm and supportive environment for these children.

Nhờ sự ủng hộ và đóng góp đầy yêu thương của quý ân nhân, CVBF tiếp tục đồng hành và hỗ trợ Mái Ấm Mỹ Hóa trong hành trình chăm sóc và nuôi dưỡng các em nhỏ mồ côi.
Vào ngày 12 tháng 2 năm 2026, nhân dịp đầu Xuân Bính Ngọ, với sự phối hợp của nhóm Nụ Cười Nhân Ái, dự án cải tạo và nâng cấp cơ sở vật chất tại mái ấm đã được hoàn thành. Công trình bao gồm việc xây dựng lại sân sinh hoạt chung — nơi các em vui chơi và tụ họp hằng ngày — cùng với việc sửa chữa và nâng cấp khu nhà bếp.
Dự án đã mang đến một không gian sống lâu dài, khang trang và thoải mái hơn cho các em đang sinh sống tại mái ấm. Khu bếp trước đây đã xuống cấp nghiêm trọng, bị dột ở nhiều vị trí, nay đã được sửa chữa, nâng cấp và thay mới mái che. Nhờ đó, các cô chăm sóc tại mái ấm có điều kiện tốt hơn để chuẩn bị và phục vụ những bữa ăn dinh dưỡng cho các em.
Hiện nay, Mái Ấm Mỹ Hóa là mái nhà chung của 43 trẻ mồ côi, từ trẻ sơ sinh đến 14 tuổi. Các em được Ni Sư Minh Tâm tận tình yêu thương, chăm sóc và nuôi dưỡng.
Nhờ sự chung tay của quý ân nhân, các em hiện có nơi ở an toàn, được chăm sóc chu đáo và có điều kiện phát triển tốt hơn. Xin chân thành cảm ơn sự yêu thương và hỗ trợ quý báu của quý vị đã góp phần tạo nên một môi trường sống ấm áp, an toàn và đầy tình thương cho các em nhỏ tại Mái Ấm Mỹ Hóa.

Trong niềm thương tiếc sâu sắc và lòng tri ân vô hạn, hơn 500 người đã cùng quy tụ tại Trung Tâm Cộng Đồng Devon để tiễn biệt và tôn vinh cuộc đời đầy ý nghĩa của cố Bác sĩ Nhung Trần-Davies, người sáng lập tổ chức Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation (CVBF).

Cuộc đời của Bác sĩ Nhung là một hành trình đẹp của tình yêu thương, lòng nhân ái và tinh thần phụng sự không ngừng nghỉ. Những hạt giống yêu thương mà chị đã gieo trồng sẽ tiếp tục đơm hoa kết trái trong biết bao cuộc đời và thế hệ mai sau.

We are delighted to share that on March 31, 2026, the project at Nguyễn Khuyến Semi-Boarding Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, in Vietnam, was successfully completed. The construction of a Clean Water System at Hrach Kon Village is truly helping to provide a long term source of fresh water for the children attending this school as well as the community. Thanks kindly to our anonymous CVBF supporter who provided full funding for this water well project along with some repairs for the classroom at a branch location of Nguyen Khuyen school.

Deep gratitude and appreciation to Nhung's help and guidance for ensuring a prompt decision was made to direct funds to this project as it was deemed urgent and necessary. Thanks to CVBF members, supporters, anh Nam Nguyen from Smile of Compassion group and all volunteers who contributed to make this project possible!

Renovation of the remote school at Hrach Kon Village, Chư Krey Commune, Kông Chro District, Gia Lai Province
(This is a branch campus of Nguyễn Khuyến School)
Replaced the entire roof with new corrugated metal sheets, as the old roof was severely leaking. During the rainy season, students were unable to study. The interior ceiling was also completely redone to prevent water seepage.
Many sections of the cement walls had deteriorated, exposing bricks. During rainfall, water would pe*****te through all surrounding walls. All damaged wall areas were repaired and rebuilt.
Window glass and the main door were heavily broken, and the iron frames were almost entirely rusted. All window and door glass, along with iron frames, were fully replaced.
The entire building was repainted after completion.
Most desks and chairs were broken or unusable. They were replaced with 15 new sets of desks and chairs for two classrooms. These classrooms accommodate combined classes of five grade levels (Grades 1–5).
Well Drilling Project at Hrack Kon Village, Chư Krey Commune, Kông Chro District, Gia Lai Province
This village hosts a remote campus of Nguyễn Khuyến School.
March 24, 2026: Groundbreaking for well drilling.
After two days of intense heat and difficult terrain, drilling reached 10 meters but encountered granite rock. The casing pipe broke and had to be removed and replaced.
March 26: A stable water source was successfully reached at a depth of 108 meters.
This well serves the village’s primary and kindergarten schools, as well as the entire local community.
The clean water system includes: the drilled well, water storage tanks, public water taps for villagers to collect water for home use, and a drinking water filtration system for both students and villagers.
Donation of an Industrial Kitchen Stove
Donated one industrial-grade stove to support meal preparation for boarding students at the main school.
Inauguration Ceremony
March 31: Representatives from the Smile of Compassion Projects and Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation (CVBF), together with the school principal, teachers, and students, held a formal inauguration ceremony.
During the ceremony, the project officially handed over the clean water system, the renovated remote school, 15 new sets of desks and chairs, and the industrial kitchen stove for boarding students.

FYI: BACKGROUND of the Nguyen Khuyen school:
Hrach Kon Village is one of the 7 village sites served by the school. The village has a Secondary Campus under the management of Nguyễn Khuyến Main School. The branch school has 2 classrooms: One combined class for Grades 1 + 2 + 3 and One combined class for Grades 4 + 5
Total number of primary students: 75 Kindergarten children: 40
The village has 150 households, with more than 250 residents.
Like many other village sites, there is still no access to clean water. Villagers must travel 8 km to a drip-water reservoir at the foot of the village to bathe, wash clothes, and collect water for daily use. Children often have no fresh drinking water at school.
The classrooms are in severely deteriorated condition. The corrugated metal roofs are very old and leaking, allowing rainwater to drip through the ceiling into the classrooms. The walls are cracked, exposing bricks. The classroom veranda and steps are badly damaged. The schoolyard has not been level, becoming very muddy during the rainy season making it more difficult for the students while sitting in classes in the classroom. Almost all glass windows are broken. To block the wind, teachers use cardboard or plastic sheets as makeshift covers.
The village site does not have any toilets. Teachers and students must go to the far end of the village to relieve themselves outdoors. Most teachers travel a long way at least 45 km to reach the school. Therefore, they must leave home as early as 4:30 a.m. to arrive at school to teach and be on time. At midday, they have no place to rest. They push student desks together to lie down temporarily while waiting to teach again in the afternoon. Meals must be cooked at home and brought along. In the evening, teachers have to return to the central residential area to stay overnight.
Overall, at the Secondary Campus, buildings are deteriorated: leaking roofs, cracked walls, broken windows, no toilets. Teachers commute 45 km daily, with no resting place or proper lunch facilities.
