Bill Withers’ tune Sweet Wanomi is only 2 chords.
Most guitar players would just strum some barre chords and move on.
But just playing it that way, isn’t very musical…
Instead, I use:
- a backbeat
- inversions
- fills
- voice leading
- substitutions
to turn something simple into something musical.
This is the difference between playing guitar… and making music.
