Tickets go on sale for this fall's show, The Wanderer, on August 30, 2026! Join us for the show, stay for an event, or help us spread the word about this imaginative experience made by kids, with kids, and for kids!

School Matinee
November 26, 2026 at 10:30am
Specifically a show for school groups and alternative schooling families. We turn down the volume of the music, keep the lobby doors open for audience members to come and go as they need, and host a post show Q and A with the ADT Youth Artists.

Red Carpet Gala
November 27, 2026 at 7:00pm
After the show join us in the DJD Dance Centre Community Living Room to watch the Youth Artists walk the Red Carpet! We keep the bar open, have live entertainment, and celebrate!

Touch & See & Try
November 28, 2026 at 2:00pm
Before the show young audience members can join us in the theatre to touch some of the costumes, see the props, and try out a dance from the show on the stage! This experience, complete with a backstage tour and snacks, is led by the ADT Youth Artists. It's an inspiring and engaging activity to be introduced to the story and theatrical elements used in the show.

Contact us for more information on how to submit a video audition and join this upcoming fall of creativity, and connection. We bring dancers together from studios across Calgary to adapt a book into an original performance. Everything is co-created by the Youth Artists and mentored by professionals!

A place to belong and be a bit weird! Every dance is led by the collective creative impulses of the Youth Artists. They share ideas, invent movement, and influence the original composition and costumes. Sometimes the results are delightfully strange!

It's an intensely creative 11 weeks that ends in a delightfully heartwarming show ... often featuring poison, orphans, world domination, you know, regular villain stuff.

This year's show is an exploration of the ocean adapted from The Wanderer by Peter Van den Ende! We're so excited!

Video Auditions to join ADT are due August 23, 2026. We use these to place Youth Artists into their rehearsal groupings. Contact [email protected] with questions and for more information, or visit our website!

Come as you are, grow into who you’re becoming! A look at the past 7 years of our performance program. Every fall is an intense 11 weeks of constant creativity and making friends to last a lifetime!

An overview of our upcoming season at ADT! We are unlike dance studios, where we don’t offer weekly training, but explore what it takes to make a show from scratch in just 11 weeks. We utilize the technique honed at weekly classes to tell stories, express ourselves, and communicate with audiences.

It’s a non competitive experience that values process over perfection, authenticity, and well rounded creativity.

Last year our Youth Artists relished their rehearsals with Megan Gole and loved performing the “smoke” piece they co-created. We are lucky to have Megan back once again this fall and ready to explore under the sea creatures.

Megan has been teaching, choreographing and performing for many years in Calgary. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance at the University of Calgary in 2005 and has taught at the University of Calgary, Freehouse dance plus, DJD, Alberta Ballet and in the PVA program at Central Memorial High School. She has had the opportunity to travel and perform in Poland, Finland, Toronto and Montreal. Megan is looking forward to sharing her love for creation and choreography with ADT. We’re creating a foundation for the future of ADT to be as magical as its first 45 years, starting with a brand new website!

Our Staff and Board of Directors have chosen to invest in this new project and it's an intimidating risk for a small charity! Any help our community can lend along the way would ensure financial security while dancing our way into modernity.

Our new website will represent the artistic excellence and vibrant community of ADT attracting new Youth Artists, audience members, and supporters. We are thrilled to be working with Everbrave once again!
