Hoop Around Like many, she had not picked up a hula hoop since she was a child, but it came as naturally to her as it had in her youth.

The Person:

Initially awestricken by the hula hoop dance performances at music festivals and various other events, Chelsea began teaching herself the art in 2009. Learning new tricks became addicting and within minutes it became her passion. Since then, she has attended the workshops of North Americas most talented hoop dancers, continuously improving her technique and learning new and upcoming t

ricks and styles. In the last year, she has inspired and encouraged many women within her community to take up the dance. She believes that hooping “brings you back to your youth; it is both fun and meditative. I don’t know where I would be without it.”

Despite the terrible situation in BC with the fires, FozzyFest has found a new location to host their event. Granted, it may not be a beach that we can all lounge on, but it will still be filled with all the amazing people who make this festival what it is. Let's make this one an event to remember. I'll be performing Friday and Saturday night and I can't wait to see all your beautiful faces on the dancefloor!

Looking for something to do on Saturday? I'll be at Behind the Curtain on Saturday, opening up the runway show for Personalize It Fashion at 4pm (show starts at 2pm!) then I'll be at the Calgary Relay for Life with a performance at midnight followed by a lesson. Another exciting event to check out! If you're out and about on the morning of June 1st come check out the Calgary Marathon - I'll be hooping with many a talented spinner between 8am - 9:30am at the Altadore River Park.

Just for participating in the 50th Anniversary of the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon you could win one of three amazing race trips in 2014.
