My name has changed with marriage too, from Robyn Hounjet to Robyn James.
In nearly ten years of entrepreneurship, I feel like I’ve lived a hundred lives.
A hundred soul identity + brand identity deaths and rebirths.
But through every chapter, one message has stayed:
“the best brands are built from the soul up… and lived from the inside out.”
I can’t remember when I first wrote this sentence, but I’m sure it was in the early days of Studio Co.Creative (circa 2017/18). It stayed through dozens of website updates, proposal templates, and social posts.
It’s been a part of my lexicon so long that it inspired our new incorporated name in 2023 (Soulbrand Media Inc.) — more on that shift to come.
This name change marks more than a rebrand — it signals the embodiment of what this business was always becoming.
Building off our origins as a brand & marketing studio, we are now leaning more heavily into media, tech, and education… but still with the intention to help brilliant, intuitive, visionary leaders build a strategic, soul-aligned business.
Because the best strategies or brand packages in the world can’t outperform your soul or self-concept.
What you can expect from this account going forward: the same Soul-Strategy-Style integration, but with different formats and tighter positioning.
Because we’re not here for everyone.
We’re here for those who want to build a SOULBRAND™ — something so true, so iconic, it breaks paradigms and shifts culture.

Brand Trust > Brand Love, according to the 2021 Edelman Trust Barometer Special Report.
“Brands are not only built on ability and competence, but also the emotional impact of trust to the consumer. Trusted brands are rewarded with purchase, loyalty, and advocacy.”
A question to consider about your brand: is your purpose well-articulated, and activated in a way that connects to both your internal stakeholders as well as Culture and Society at large?
This work isn’t easy, but will be well worth it.

One caveat: Progress > Perfection. Usually the best way to figure out if something aligns is to just take action and do it.
