What happens at a fencing class? ⚔️
At Fencing Academy of Calgary, every session is structured to help students learn, grow, and enjoy the process.
A typical class includes:
• warm-up and coordination exercises
• footwork and movement drills
• technical skill development
• supervised fencing bouts
Our goal is not only to teach fencing, but to help athletes build focus, discipline, and confidence in a supportive and safe environment.
Many parents notice that over time their children become more independent, attentive, and motivated both in sport and in everyday life.
Curious to try? Our summer camps are a great place to start ⚔️

In February, our athletes competed at Canada Cup 3 in Calgary, one of the largest national fencing events in the country.
Competing at this level against athletes from across Canada is an important step in long-term athletic development.
Aya Nogela placed 17th out of 54 in Cadet Women’s Épée.
Oleg Skorinskiy placed 20th out of 68 in Cadet Men’s Épée.
We are especially proud of our youngest athlete, just 11 years old, who stepped onto the national stage with courage and determination.
Every competition at this level builds resilience, tactical awareness, and competitive confidence.
We continue to move forward together.

Parents often ask why we focus on épée fencing.
Épée teaches athletes to take responsibility for every action - every touch matters. It develops focus, patience, and strategic thinking, helping children learn how to make thoughtful decisions under pressure.
Over time, many families notice that their children become more confident, organized, and independent - not only on the piste, but in everyday life as well.
This is why épée is such a powerful foundation for both athletic and personal growth.

Our athletes recently took part in a fencing competition.
Competitions are an important part of development - they help young fencers gain experience, confidence, and learn how to apply their skills in real bouts.
We are proud of our athletes for their dedication and effort, and thankful to the families who support them throughout their fencing journey.
