In September 2017 I started DIY KIDS CUTS. I had a passion to teach parents how to cut their own kids hair so they could take the skills they learned in my course and apply it at home. 👏🏼Saving their family A LOT of money AND time!

The stories I have heard from my students have been incredible. From surviving the Covid years to saving their kids the trauma of getting their haircut from a complete stranger, in a very busy overstimulating environment of the salon was so rewarding to me. I was so proud of the parents to learn a new skill and see how it blessed their families. This is why I continue to teach.

I have been a hairstylist for over 28 years now and love working behind the chair just as much as I love to teach! To plan ahead, I am now releasing my fall schedule so that all my parents can plan ahead. My next classes are.

My name is Richelle Fox and I have been a hairstylist for over 28 years. I am married to the love of my life for almost 29 years…And we have four beautiful adult kids.

I started DIY Kids cuts out of a heart to help parents save time and save money at the salons getting their kids haircuts(this is actually a lot of time and more money than you think!). Over the years of teaching parents, some of the most memorable parents have been the ones who have children with either developmental disabilities or physical limitations that make a salon visit completely chaos and traumatic . I have watched how these parents have learned the skills necessary in my class to go home and to never step foot into a salon again with their kids(unless they reach an age where mom or dads haircuts don’t measure up!) what a blessing it is to watch them learn the skill of cutting hair and take that skill back to their families.

2023 was an amazing happy filled year as our oldest daughter got married 🙏🏼 on the other hand 2023 was one of the most difficult for our family as my amazing dad went to be with the Lord after a long, painful battle with cancer in the fall. It took all my energy just to keep Fox salon going, caring for my parents., my family and myself that I had to put DIY Kids cuts on the back burner for a while.

The good news is I am about to hold my first class of 2024 on February 19th 10-2 …. if you or anyone you know, would love to learn how to cut their own kids hair please DM me for further details. I am super excited to teach my next group of parents! It’s always a blast! ✂️✂️✂️

One of the heartbreaking things I see in my salon are kids that are forced to sit at a strange place and have a complete stranger trimming their hair. I believe a haircut should never be a traumatic experience. You should just let it grow until they adjust, or as I’ve said, over and over again, parents need to learn to cut their kids hair themselves! That way their kids are in their own home and they are surrounded by people they trust. My DIY kids cuts course does just that …teaches parents how to confidently cut their own kids hair. My last class before the summer will be on June 7 6-9 pm. There is still room if you don’t want to wait until October. DM me for details.

Had so much fun yesterday teaching three beautiful moms how to cut their own kids hair!! Held 3 private lessons this week!
