As we experience the first snowfall of the season, we wanted to remind everyone to be extra cautious on the roads. Snowy and icy conditions can make driving more challenging, so please allow extra time for your morning and afternoon commutes.

We also kindly ask that you dress your children in warm, weather-appropriate outfits, including winter jackets, snow pants, hats, gloves, scarves, and waterproof boots. This will ensure they can stay comfortable and enjoy outdoor playtime throughout the day.

Halloween Vibes in our JK3A Classroom 🎃

September 30 in Canada, is a day dedicated to honoring the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. It acknowledges the tragic history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous peoples. The day encourages reflection, education, and action toward healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.

Please wear orange on Friday September 27 to commemorate this day.

Our JK3 Classroom:

Pre-Writing Skills:
The activity strengthens basic writing skills, such as holding a pencil correctly, forming letters, and creating simple sentences. This is a key step in preparing for kindergarten, where children will be expected to write more regularly.

Fine Motor Development:
Writing and drawing help develop fine motor control, which is essential for holding a pencil and forming letters properly.

Language and Communication Skills:
Children practicing language development, sentence structure, and vocabulary, all crucial for academic success in kindergarten.

Boosts Confidence:
Sharing their work with the class helps build communication skills and confidence, both of which will be essential when they enter kindergarten.

Emotional Preparation:
Thinking and writing about kindergarten allows children to mentally and emotionally prepare for the transition. This activity can help reduce anxiety and build excitement about what’s to come.

S•T•E•M Science Activity:

Introducing our JK1C (19m-3yr) toddler class to nature by having them explore the parts of a sunflower, encouraging sensory development, and fostering curiosity about the natural world.

Sensory Development: The activity stimulates the senses—touch, sight, and even smell.
Fine Motor Skills: Handling the sunflower and extracting seeds help develop fine motor control.
Cognitive Skills: Observing and discussing the sunflower fosters curiosity, vocabulary development, and understanding of nature.
Creativity: Drawing and expressing what they observed enhances creative skills.

This activity is both educational and fun, making it an excellent way to introduce young children to the wonders of nature.
