Today is Pink Shirt Day.
I day to stand up against bullying.

Back in 2007 a group of high schoolers started a movement that changed the meaning of a pink shirt.

Today is a day to show kindness and compassion.

I often get asked how much lessons cost.
I charge:
30 minute lesson: $32.50
45 minute lesson: $48.75
60 minute lesson: $65.00
90 minute lesson: $97.50

Lessons take place weekly during the school year. September through June. No lessons during spring break, Christmas break or summer holidays.

This is one of my favourite spots in my home. My studio.
It feels comfy and cozy and of course, Oh so musical.

This day was such a great day.
I loved taking these photos.

Performance is such an important part of playing the piano. I especially encourage my younger students to perform in recitals. It helps in so many different areas of their life.
It pushes them out of their comfort zone. It helps with public speaking and it gives them an opportunity to show off what skills they have learned.

Bruce Liu’s rendition of Chopin’s Nocturne in C Sharp Minor is absolutely stunning.
This nocturne is one of my favourites. I absolutely love the emotion and the heartache that is portrayed throughout the piece.

Practice tip of the day:
Perfect practice is on of my favourite practice techniques.
Grab some poker chips, buttons or pompoms.
You will need 3-7.

As you play, in small chunks: 2-4 measures, you will track you your correct play throughs.
If your goal is 3x correctly in a row.
You play your chunk correctly once. Move a chip to the complete pile and continue until you hit the goal of 3.
If you make a mistake you reset your complete pile and start your 3 over again.
The goal is 3x correctly In a Row.
You can choose to go up too 7x correctly.
Make sure you don’t get frustrated. If you do. Switch up the practice and come back to it another time.
