Discovery Kids Out of School Care

🌧️🏖️ A little rain didn’t spoil our fun this afternoon! We brought the beach indoors and held a Sandcastle Building Contest for Beach Week.

The OSC children were challenged to create their own unique sandcastles using natural materials, encouraging creativity, problem solving, and imaginative design. From shells and stones to other nature inspired treasures, each sandcastle was completely one of a kind!

🏴‍☠️ Arrrg Mateys! We’ve returned from an amazing Pirate Week adventure! Throughout the week, the children created their own treasure maps, hid their own treasure, designed pirate ships, played a game of Captain’s Coming, panned for gems in our pirate-themed sensory bin, and ended the week by making their very own treasure slime! 💎🦜⚓⛵️✨

Pirate Week has arrived! Today we’ll be making our very own treasure maps and hiding treasure for our fellow pirates to discover. 🗺️💎

🐬🧜‍♀️ What a fin-tastic Shark & Mermaid Week! 🧜‍♀️🐬

Last week, our young ocean explorers dove into all kinds of underwater adventures! 🌊✨ From our ocean water table and sea-themed sensory bottles to playing Sea Battle and searching for hidden fishies around the playground.

The children also got creative with beautiful watercolour ocean paintings and made their very own shark tooth and mermaid tail necklaces to take home. 🎨🦷🦈🧜‍♀️

🦎✨ Moving day for Disco! ✨🦎

For the past 6 months, Disco has been living in a home environment where he’s had lots of time to grow, settle in, and get used to being gently handled by children. He has become such a curious, social little guy and absolutely loves coming right up to the glass to watch what’s going on around him 👀

Every day, Disco enjoys a healthy diet of black fly larvae along with fresh greens like bok choy, peppers, and herbs 🥬🌿

Today was a very exciting day because Disco officially moved into our enchanted reading room at Discovery Kids 📚✨ We have a feeling he is going to LOVE watching the children explore, read stories, and visit him throughout the day. And knowing Disco… he’ll happily soak up all the love from many little hands ❤️

We can’t wait to watch the friendships and learning opportunities grow alongside our newest little Discovery Kids friend 🦎

Our kiddos spent the day roasting yummy s’mores, catching bugs, telling silly stories, and cozying up in their sleeping bags for the ultimate indoor camping adventure 🐞🔥⛺️

There’s something so magical about watching children slow down, use their imaginations, laugh with friends, and create memories together. From flashlight fun to nature exploration, every little moment was filled with wonder ❤️
