Tomorrow is Opposite Day! ☀️🌙

All of these national days are a little bizarre, but if anything, they’re a great excuse to focus on some important concepts or current events throughout the year.

Opposite Day opens doors for fun and conversation about language and antonyms! Not only are antonyms a great way to strengthen vocabulary, they also help to give kids the tools to explain the meaning of words.

We’re aiming to support our Spruce Families with going screen free for just one day a week over the summer. As we gather some educational resources, we’d love to know your thoughts on screen time and screen addiction.

The countdown is on. We’d love to help you make this summer count 🙌

✨🌱 A little reminder that your mindset makes a bigger impact than you’d like to admit.

This week’s ruminating thought on mindset:

• How do you respond when faced with challenges? How do your kids?

• We’ve been having LOTS of off-curriculum lessons with our students lately about how to learn, and therefore about adopting a growth mindset. The stress of marks can be a lot for any student, and we’re finding a need for a post report card pick-me-up.

• How come we go through our whole lives just assuming that we know how to learn? 🤯 A big determinant of success in main-stream public education is that successful learners, do well. So let’s teach all kids how to learn!

Part of what sets Spruce Education apart is that we strive to embed mini-lessons in every session to build our student’s confidence as a learner.

Our hearts can feel heavy with the weight of the world, and state of our planet. There is so much going on that is out of our control or even realm of understanding. Do what you can to care for that beautiful heart if yours! 💚 Small daily choices and actions can make a BIG impact! It’s time to normalize thinking about the planet and how we can be more environmentally conscious in our day to day lives. Who’s with us? 💪♻️
