Root Chakra Practices for Feeling Grounded and Safe ❤️

When life feels busy, uncertain, or overwhelming, grounding practices can help bring us back into the body and back into the present moment.

The root chakra is connected to our sense of safety, stability, belonging, and support. When we work with this energy gently, we can begin to feel more anchored, steady, and connected to ourselves.

In my newest blog, I’m sharing simple root chakra practices you can bring into your day, including:

Yoga poses for grounding
Breathwork to calm the body
Crystals for support and intention
Journaling prompts for reflection
Daily rituals to feel more rooted

Grounding does not have to be complicated. Sometimes it is as simple as taking a slow breath, feeling your feet on the floor, making a warm cup of tea, or reminding yourself, “I am safe in this moment.”

Yoga is so much more than the physical shapes we move through on the mat.

It is breath.
It is awareness.
It is energy.
It is learning how to listen to the subtle messages of the body.

In this new blog post, I’m sharing a soft introduction to the energy body in yoga, including chakras, prana, breath, and awareness. Nothing overwhelming, nothing complicated. Just a gentle way to begin understanding how yoga can support you on a deeper level.

The chakras can offer us a beautiful map for self-awareness. They invite us to notice where we feel grounded, open, blocked, expressive, intuitive, or connected.

And the breath helps us come back to ourselves, one inhale and one exhale at a time.

You do not need to understand it all at once.
You can begin simply by noticing.

Sometimes emotions live deeper than words.

They can sit in the body as tension, heaviness, tightness in the chest, a lump in the throat, or that feeling of carrying more than you can explain.

Reiki offers a gentle space to soften.

It is not about forcing a release or trying to “fix” yourself. It is about creating a calm, supportive space where your body, mind, and nervous system can begin to feel safe enough to rest, receive, and let go of what no longer needs to be held in the same way.

Emotional release through Reiki can look different for everyone.

It may feel like tears.
A deep exhale.
Warmth in the body.
A softening around the heart.
A sense of peace.
Or simply feeling a little lighter after your session.

There is no right or wrong way to experience it.

Reiki gently meets you where you are and offers space to return to yourself, one breath and one layer at a time.

I wrote a new blog on How Reiki Can Support Emotional Release. You can read it now on my website.

With love,
Kat

The garden is officially coming to life 🌱

This year we have a little bit of everything growing: medicinal herbs, peppers, tomatoes, root vegetables, potatoes, and all the goodness that comes from getting your hands in the soil.

There is something so grounding about tending to a garden. Watching tiny plants settle in, grow roots, and slowly become something nourishing feels like such a beautiful reminder to slow down and trust the process.

Also, please enjoy the creeper dog in the background keeping watch over the garden duties 🐾

Here’s to fresh food, healing herbs, sunshine, and a season of growth. 🌿🍅🌶️🥔

New on the blog 🤍

Why Yin/Yang Yoga is so supportive for the nervous system.

This practice is such a beautiful balance of movement and stillness. The yang portion helps us build heat, move energy, and release tension from the body. Then the yin portion invites us to slow down, soften, and tap into the rest and digest side of the nervous system.

It is a practice that reminds us we need both.

Strength and softness.
Effort and ease.
Movement and rest.

If your body has been feeling tense, tired, overwhelmed, or stuck in that go-go-go energy, Yin/Yang Yoga may be a beautiful way to support your nervous system and come back to balance.

I hope to see you on your mat 🤍

Have you ever tried Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is one of those practices that can feel so simple, yet so deeply supportive.

You are guided into stillness while the body rests, the breath softens, and the nervous system is invited to slow down.

It is not about doing more.
It is not about getting the pose right.
It is about giving yourself permission to be held, supported, and fully at rest.

This can be such a beautiful practice if you are feeling tired, overwhelmed, anxious, or simply craving a moment to come back to yourself.

Save this if your body has been asking for deeper rest 🤍

A little behind the scenes before class begins ✨

Before students arrive, I love taking a few quiet moments to set the space with care.

Whether it’s beginner yoga, flow, yin/yang, or a slower grounding practice, the intention is always the same: to help you feel supported, present, and connected to your breath.

The props are there to meet you where you are and support your practice in a way that feels good for your body.

See you on your mats 🤍

Curious about Reiki restorative yoga? 🤍

Reiki restorative offers space to soften, settle, and receive. It is a gentle practice that blends the support of restorative yoga with the subtle energy of Reiki, creating space for deep rest, grounding, and care.

Many people describe it as calming, comforting, and nourishing. Some feel lighter, some feel deeply relaxed, and some simply feel more present in their body. Every experience can be a little different, and that is part of the beauty of it.

The intention is always the same: to create a space where you can pause, be supported, and reconnect with yourself.

Save this post if you have been curious about Reiki restorative, and message me if you would like to experience it for yourself. ✨
