☂️Under our umbrella, we all belong! ☂️

We’re so excited to introduce our new Family Wall for this school year! 🌧️

Each family will have the opportunity to decorate a special raindrop to hang around our umbrella, while family photos will be displayed underneath — creating a beautiful reminder that every family is an important part of our Mary Poppins Preschool community. 💜

We can’t wait to watch this special wall come to life as our Mary Poppins family grows together throughout the year! ☂️💜

🎨 Painting at the easel is one of our favourite first-day activities! 🎨

There’s something so special about watching our preschoolers explore the easel for the first time! 🖌️💜

Painting is so much more than a fun, creative activity; it supports so many areas of development:

✨ Fine motor skills – grasping brushes, making strokes and controlling movements helps strengthen little hands and fingers.

🎨 Creativity & self-expression – children can freely explore colours, shapes and ideas while expressing themselves in their own unique way.

🧠 Cognitive development – experimenting with colour mixing, cause and effect, and different painting techniques encourages curiosity and problem-solving.

💬 Language development – talking about their artwork, colours and creative choices helps build vocabulary and communication skills.

💪 Confidence & independence – having the freedom to make their own choices and create something from their imagination helps children feel capable and proud.

And, of course… it’s FUN! 💜

We love providing open-ended experiences where children can explore, create and learn at their own pace. 🌈✨

Our last week of school was spent enjoying one of our all-time favourite dramatic play setups… the Doctor’s Office! 🩺🩹👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Our little doctors, nurses, patients, and receptionists were busy caring for one another, checking temperatures, listening to heartbeats and bringing so much creativity and imagination to their play! ❤️

We’re already missing the laughter, learning, and excitement of being in the classroom, but we’re eagerly awaiting the start of a brand-new school year this September! We can’t wait to welcome our returning friends and meet all of our new friends! ✨📚💜
