Effective September 14, 2026, New Brunswick has removed the sector-wide AIP restriction for Accommodation and Food Services.

This means some occupations within the sector may now be considered for endorsement—but the occupations shown on the flyer remain restricted.

⚠️ Important:

✅ The change applies to AIP endorsement applications
⏸️ Employer designation intake remains paused for 2026
📋 Eligibility does not guarantee selection
🔎 Skilled Worker and Express Entry restrictions are separate

Always confirm the employer’s designation status and the applicant’s specific NOC before applying.

This may help qualifying workers develop in-demand skills while continuing to work—but conditions apply. Eligibility should be reviewed before beginning any program.

Some of our employer clients have genuine workforce needs and have expressed interest in qualified Francophone talent.

For eligible candidates, Francophone Mobility (C16) may provide an LMIA-exempt work-permit option for employment outside Quebec. French speaking and listening ability generally needs to be at least NCLC 5, along with the other applicable requirements.

And the conversation shouldn’t necessarily end with the work permit.

From delivering pizzas to helping people navigate Canadian immigration. 🇨🇦

I came to Canada as a student.

Along the way, I worked as a pizza delivery driver, cashier, mover, roofer and engineering technologist.

Today, I’m an RCIC.

It definitely wasn’t a straight line. 😄

But every job paid a bill, taught me something, and became part of my Canadian story.

That’s why Labour Day means more to me than just a long weekend.

To every newcomer working the job they dreamed of — and especially to those working the job they didn’t dream of while building toward something bigger:

Keep going. Your current job doesn’t have to be your final destination.

🚨 Caregiver PR applicants facing a work permit gap

A concerning issue has emerged for applicants under Canada’s 2025 Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots.

According to a Toronto Star report, applicants under the 2025 program are not eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) simply because their permanent residence application is being processed.

For caregivers whose current work permits are expiring, this can create a serious problem:

PR application in process ✅
Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) ✅
Automatic right to keep working ❌

IRCC’s position, as reported, is that BOWP eligibility was never included under the 2025 caregiver pilots and that affected applicants would need to qualify for another work permit option.

The impact isn’t limited to caregivers. Canadian families relying on them for childcare, senior care and home support can also be left without the workers they depend on.

⚠️ Important: A pending PR application or AOR does not automatically extend your authorization to work in Canada.

If your work permit is approaching expiry, your options should be reviewed before your current status expires.
