September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today is a day of remembrance and reflection.

This is by no means a comprehensive resource, but this information has been provided to student-athletes and families at The Hill to further their understanding of the lie and how we can begin the walk together toward reconciliation.

As the school is closed today in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation, we encourage you to explore these concepts and to be curious in independently finding more information.

Who said high-level physics is confined to a textbook? 🚀💧🎈

Mr. Hossack’s Grade 11 Physics class took the lab outside to explore elastic potential energy, projectile motion, and trajectory calculations in real time. By measuring pullback distances against flight ranges, student-athletes are able to put physics into motion, rather than memorizing formulas.

Learning isn’t just about passing tests, it’s about seeing how the world works firsthand and The Hill Academy is fortunate enough to have teachers like .hossack who believe that.

Nothing like bringing in the buddy to inspire the next generation. A massive thank you to Jon Gordon for spending time with our student-athletes at The Hill. Mrs. Briggs’ Grade 12 Biology class is kicking off the year with a Banana Carbohydrate Lab. 🍌🔬 Testing and finding the difference in the amount of starch found in four different levels of ripeness of bananas, shows the breakdown of starch to sugars as the banana ripens. All student-athletes agreed that they found the lab ap-peel-ing.
