What an amazing week at the Trupanion Canadian Open! 🐾❤️

A huge thank you to Flat Out Dogs for putting on such a well-run and organized event. It was so nice to be a small part of such a great weekend.

I loved catching up with familiar faces, meeting some of the other vendors, and getting to know so many new people along the way. And a HUGE thank you to my existing clients who came to see me and to all the new dogs and people who trusted me with their care. I truly appreciate every one of you.

I even managed to sneak away from the table here and there to watch some of the amazing runs. There are some seriously incredible dogs and handlers out there!

I came home tired, happy and very grateful for another great experience since moving to the Maritimes.

Thank you for having me, and hopefully I’ll see many of you again soon!

Two years. One horse. One consistent commitment to wellness.

Take a look at this transformation.

From September 2023 to July 2026, this horse's posture, topline, balance, and overall way of carrying themselves has changed dramatically. This wasn't the result of one "magic" treatment, it was the result of consistent bodywork, regular maintenance, and a proactive approach to wellness.

Just like people, horses develop compensation patterns from training, injuries, growth, aging, and everyday life. Bodywork helps release restrictions, improve movement, and support the nervous system, but lasting change happens when we stay ahead of problems instead of waiting until our horse is uncomfortable.

Maintenance isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about preserving what's working.

Small, consistent investments in your horse's body today can mean better performance, greater comfort, and a healthier, happier partner for years to come.

The photos speak for themselves. 💙

Have you noticed changes in your own horse after regular bodywork? We'd love to hear your experience in the comments.

Is Your Horse Telling You Something?

Sometimes the signs are subtle...

✨ Difficulty picking up a lead
✨ Shortened stride
✨ Resistance to bending
✨ Trouble standing quietly for the farrier
✨ Behaviour changes under saddle
✨ Decreased performance
✨ Stiffness after work or when leaving the stall

Many people assume these are simply part of aging or training, but they can also be your horse's way of communicating discomfort.

At Balanced Bodyworks, we believe in supporting the whole horse. Our sessions combine therapies such as Cranial Sacral Therapy, Bowen Techniques, Fascial Release, Kinesiology Taping, and Reiki to help improve mobility, reduce tension, encourage relaxation, and support the body's natural ability to heal and rebalance.

Whether your horse is a high-performance athlete, a weekend trail partner, or a cherished retiree, proactive bodywork can help keep them comfortable and performing at their best.

📍 We proudly serve both Southern Ontario and the Maritimes!
Our experienced Ontario practitioners are available throughout Southwestern, Ontario, while Sarah continues to travel throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, bringing holistic equine wellness directly to your barn.

Your horse works hard for you—give them the support they deserve.
