Eagles celebrating Accessibility Week Success!
Congratulations to our Grade 3 ADST students for their outstanding participation in the District Accessibility Design Competition! The students explored what accessibility means and expressed their ideas through thoughtful and creative artwork. Their designs highlighted friendship, belonging, kindness, and the importance of including everyone—celebrating both seen and unseen disabilities.
A special shout-out to Rylan, whose winning design beautifully shares the message that everyone can play together. Her artwork reminds us that inclusion and belonging make our communities stronger.
We are also proud that the entire class received the Class Prize for this contest , and their designs will be featured on the district's Accessibility website.
We are proud of our Eagles for demonstrating creativity, empathy, and a commitment to making everyone feel welcome.Go Eagles go!

Our K–1 learners became little sound scientists this week! 🎶🔍
Using plastic cups, eagles explored how sound changes when we tap, shake, listen, and create vibrations. We discovered loud and soft sounds, high and low sounds, and lots of curious thinking along the way!
Hands-on learning + curiosity + creativity = learning the WKE way 🦅✨

Children connect deeply to stories. 🌱
We invite:
Grandparents to share skills and stories
Families to teach crafts or cooking
Students to share their passions
Older learners to mentor younger ones
Kindness grows through connection.
Curiosity grows through sharing.
Every idea, initiative, and act matters.
Let’s do this — the WKE way! 🦅
Over the next two weeks and beyond, let’s spread Kindness and Curiosity the WKE way! 🦅
You can:
🤝 Help someone at home, school, or in the community
• Invite someone to join your game • Use gentle words • Hold the door open • Help someone clean up • Share materials • Notice when someone feels left out • Say "good morning" with a smile • Include everyone in group work • Cheer others on • Help younger learners • Listen when others speak • Use kind hands and feet
🍪 Bake or cook for a friend or neighbour
📚 Volunteer to teach others something new to make, cook, or create
❓ Ask questions and show curiosity
🪄 Tell a story, try puppetry, or include someone new in play and activities
Children, families, staff, grandparents, elders and community members — everyone is welcome and included! Share your pictures of acts of kindness and curiosity as well as ideas for knowledge sharing and joining in this initiative with us at [email protected].
Kind hearts grow strong communities
• Curious minds change the world
Be kind. Be curious. Do it the WKE way!
