One comment on the review of the French Immersion program was declining WKE literacy levels and here the report clearly stated how that was not true. We will see how they do now without it.

It is with heavy hearts that we have to let everyone know that the SD 91 board unanimously voted to end French Immersion in Burns Lake as of September 2021. We would like to thank everyone who supported the effort to prevent this and who took a chance and enrolled for next year. What a loss this will be for our community. Beth and Nikki

Registration for kindergarten and grade one will be ongoing- just contact WKE anytime. Nikki Shumka and I are always happy to chat with parents if you have any questions.

Also we have just learned that the decision about French Immersion will be discussed at the School District 91 Board Meeting on April 19.

Kindergarten and grade 1 enrolment starts March 15th make sure to tick the tiny box at the top of the registration page for French Immersion ;)

Do you have a child in Grade 1 or 2 in an English program and want to put them into French Immersion? Or was your child in FI and opted out for a year and would like to return to French Immersion?
