BCIT graduate Alina Pak built a prototype that turns simulated vessel data into real-time environmental insights and automated emissions calculations.

As part of her capstone project for the Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science (BScACS) degree, Alina developed Suvion Systems, a web-based environmental monitoring and sustainability dashboard designed for small-vessel operators.

Through her project, Alina is helping small vessel operators improve their day-to-day operations.

Thank you to the BCIT community who came together to learn, reflect, and grow during Truth and Reconciliation Week at the Burnaby Campus hosted by BCIT Indigenous Initiatives and Partnerships.

We want to remind the community that all BCIT campuses are closed on September 30 for Orange Shirt Day.

September 30, now also known as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR), is a day for all Canadians to reflect and learn more about the history and legacy of the residential school system.

Commemorating the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation goes beyond wearing an orange shirt.
