Thank you for making the Auction a wonderful event!

We hope you enjoyed the Auction this year. It was so great to be able to spend some time in person with fellow members of the parish and school community.

Big thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make this happen! We’re also very grateful to all of the corporate sponsors and guests who participated in the online bidding and live event. Your support goes a long way towards supporting the parish and school, and we can’t thank you enough.

St. Michael's School Auction The annual Auction is happening live and in person on Apr. 22!

Everything You Want to Know About the Auction

Get your bidding arm ready because the live Auction starts at 6pm this Saturday, Apr. 22. After the 5pm mass, you can head over to the school’s main entrance to pick up your bidding paddles (admission is free) and join the fun!

Online Silent Auction
Currently available at 32auctions.com/stmichaels2023, the online auction will close Friday, April 21 at 8:00 pm.

Auction items are classified in these 3 categories:

1) Online only: Only available for bids online. For these items, no more bids will be accepted after Friday, Apr. 21 at 8pm.

2) Pre-event bidding: Initial bidding can take place online, and the final winner will be determined at the live event on Apr. 22. For those who cannot make it to the Live event, the proxy bid option is available – enter the MAXIMUM amount you would bid for the item and an Auction committee member will place a bid for you at the LIVE event.

3) Available at the live event only: No bids are accepted online — items are only shown to give you a sneak peek.

Kids Just Wanna Have Fun
Since the Auction is an adults-only event, you can drop off your kids at TUPS where they’ll enjoy games, movies, pizza, popcorn, and more. Tickets are available for $15 per child and can be purchased at the school office.

Kids are encouraged to wear comfy pajamas and bring their own entertainment devices and a portable chair.

Eat, Drink and Be Merry
Food vouchers are available to buy at the door for $15 per person (includes a pulled pork slider, 4 egg rolls and 4 sausage rolls). Snacks, coffee and tea are on the house, and there will be a cash bar.

Get Ready to Play
Play the Raffle, Bottle Booth, Mystery Box, Rain or Shine (a.k.a. Heads or Tails), and Musical Beach Chairs games to win great prizes! Games tickets can be purchased at the event through cash or credit cards.

TUPS / Event Babysitting Update

You might have seen different prices for the TUPS tickets, either $15 or $20 per ticket. The actual price is $15, but of course we're happy to accept additional funds to help out the parish.

Tickets are available at the school office.

Looking to Get Your Volunteer Hours?
We’re looking for volunteers to help out during the Auction, as well as at Theatre Under the Pews (TUPS), the child-minding service that looks after kids while their parents are at the Auction.

Kids love being at TUPS — they can come dressed in their PJs, watch a movie, play games with friends, and more. But we need adults to supervise, so we’re looking for volunteers. You can get 6 hours for a full shift, 3 hours for a half shift, and an additional hour for doing a criminal record check (at no cost). If we don’t get enough volunteers, we will have to cancel TUPS. 🙁

For Auction night, we need volunteers to handle the following roles: door greeters, handing out catalogues, setting up, and cleaning up after the event.

If you have anything you’d like to donate (and thank you in advance), please drop it into the donation box by the school office or in the church. Also, we’d appreciate it if you’d please print and fill out a donation form to accompany any donations.

If you’d like to donate but aren’t sure what to give, here are some things we’d love to receive:

This year’s theme is: Fun in the Sun!

Start Collecting Those Bottles
The Annual General Meeting is coming up on Feb. 8, and it’s a tradition for school parents to bring bottles of wine and fine spirits to the meeting to support the Auction. So when you’re stocking up for the holiday season, maybe pick up an extra bottle or two for the Auction!

We Need You!
Looking for opportunities to fill your 60 participation hours? Volunteer for the Auction! Some current members will be leaving the school in the next year, so we’re looking for fresh faces to keep the Auction going. And if you join now, you’ll be able to learn from some of our veteran members.

We have opportunities available in these roles: Co-chair, secretary, treasurer, marketing/communications, donation cataloguing, corporate donations, TUPS (child-minding service), online auction setup, live auction setup, and auction closing.

If you’re interested in any of these roles, or want to help out in a different way, please email [email protected]. You can get more info by joining our next meeting, which will be held over Zoom on Jan. 16 at 7pm.

Donation Ideas
The holiday sales are in full swing so it’s the perfect time to get great deals on exciting items you can donate to the Auction!

Gift cards in denominations of $25, $50, and $100

If you’re eyeing an item that’s out of your budget, team up with friends or fellow parents so you can all pitch in and get something awesome! Donations can be dropped off at the school office or in the church.

Big Boxes Needed
If you end up giving (or getting) a large item for Christmas (like a TV, major appliance, or furniture), don’t dispose of the cardboard box! The Auction decorating crew would love to take those boxes and transform them into decorations for Auction night. If you have a box you’d like to donate, please text Maria at 778-881-0922.
