Students who earn the Chief Scout’s Award or Queen’s Venturer Scout Award may receive 4 credits—equivalent to a Grade 11 or 12 course—under BC’s External Credentials Program.
These awards recognize leadership, outdoor skills, community service, and personal growth. A great way to turn your Scouting achievements into academic progress!

Through the BC Ministry of Education’s External Credentials Program, students who complete the Chief Scout’s Award or the Queen’s Venturer Scout Award are eligible to receive 4 high school credits—equivalent to a Grade 11 or 12 course!
These awards recognize leadership, outdoor adventure skills, community service, and personal growth. They’re a great way for youth to turn their Scouting achievements into academic progress while building lifelong skills.

Who qualifies?
Students who complete the award requirements while actively participating in Scouts Canada programs.

How to claim the credits:
Speak with your school counselor or administrator. Schools can report these awards to the Ministry using the External Credentials process. Students may receive either a letter grade or “Transfer Standing” (TS), depending on documentation.

2026 President’s International Entrance Award
Eligibility Criteria:
• The applicant must be currently residing outside Canada and must not hold a Humber DLI study permit at the time of application.
• Must apply to an eligible full-time Humber program starting Winter 2026 or May 2026 or Sep 2026.
• Eligible students may receive a $2,000 bursary.

Eligibility by Intake:
For January 2026 intake:
Accept your offer of admission between April 14 and October 31, 2025
Submit your study permit application to IRCC by November 7, 2025
For May 2026 intake:
Accept your offer between September 1, 2025 - February 13, 2026
Submit your study permit application to IRCC by February 27. 2026
For September 2026 intake:
Accept your offer between November 15 , 2025 to 2025 to July 10, 2026
Submit your study permit application to IRCC by July 17, 2026

Are you interested in taking French or Spanish? Or, are you interested in taking a first-year university English course in a more cost-effective, and straightforward setting?

Check out Selkirk College’s Language Courses!

Selkirk College offers French 102, and Spanish 102 for students looking to expand their knowledge of a second language, or who are looking to begin learning French to apply for the French Canadian immigration pathway. These courses are university transferrable, offered online, and don’t require a study permit.

Selkirk College also offers English 110 which is an equivalent to first-year English courses at many universities and colleges across B.C.
