SFU World Languages and Literatures Student Union SFU World Languages and Literatures Student Union A community for those with a passion for World Languages and Literatures.

Based at Simon Fraser University's World Languages and Literatures Program! Automatic membership shall be extended to:

1. All undergraduate students actively registered in the School of World Literature.
2. All undergraduate students who have intended majors in the School of World Literature and have taken a course labeled WL in the last three semesters.
3. All undergraduate students currently enrolled in one or more courses labeled WL.

🧾 Please join us for the Lyre Magazine's launch of their 17th issue: "Flux", including over 50 pieces of student-submitted poetry, translations, prose, photography, and visual art: on October 15th, 4:30pm, at SFU Burnaby's Halpern Centre.

Hey everyone! 🪷

The WLL Department is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2026 Caledonia award!

Two awards of $1,300 will be granted annually to two undergraduate students who are in good academic standing, demonstrate an engagement in community-volunteer service, and a commitment to the study of World Literature.

DEADLINE: OCTOBER 5TH, 2026

Requirements:
- Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in the term of Eligibility
- Have a formal declaration in Honours, Major, Joint Major, Extended Minor, or Minor program in World Literature
- Be in good academic standing (a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00)
- whose thoughtful approach to their studies and extracurricular activities demonstrates a commitment to the value of cultural exchange and understanding.

Please submit ONE PDF containing:
- Resume/CV
- A statement underlining how the applicant's thoughtful approach to their studies and extracurriculars demonstrates a commitment to the value of cultural exchange and understanding
- A letter of reference from an individual other than a faculty member of the World Literature Program.
