Our studio teacher, Ms. Seira, was invited to serve as the piano accompanist for a professional choir performance! 🎹✨

The concert featured classic Studio Ghibli theme songs in a rich, captivating one-hour set. Accompanying a choir requires far more than solid technical skills—it demands precision in controlling vocal balance, musical nuance, and ensemble harmony. This highlights what we always emphasize at our studio: the piano is not just a solo instrument, but an art of collaboration, listening, and expressive connection.

🎹 Vancouver Nov 2025: Taoz Piano Studio‘s Event at Rideau Retirement Residence a Huge Success! ❄️🎄🧑‍🎄

On November 22, 2025, our students’ performance at Rideau Retirement Residence wrapped up with great success! The children’s carefully prepared performances and thoughtful post-show gifts filled the entire weekend with laughter and joy. Though a few young performers felt a bit nervous on stage, every single performance went smoothly, and each gift was beautifully packaged with so much heart.

Representing the studio, Ms. Tao and Ms. Emily were deeply moved: every present was exquisitely wrapped, complete with handwritten blessings. The dedication and sincerity the children showed in preparing for the seniors were just as commendable as their music on stage!

Even though we have hosted similar events many times before, the warmth brought to the retirement home is always genuinely touching. Seeing the children and their thoughtful gifts, the seniors’ eyes lit up with sheer joy. Children mark the beginning of life’s journey, while seniors represent its wisdom; music is the bridge that fills both ends with warmth. Perhaps the true meaning of learning the piano goes beyond mastering notes—it lies in experiencing life and sharing heartfelt warmth through music.

🎨 [Vancouver • Along the Painted River | 💚 When Dance Meets a Thousand-Year Scroll]
A timeless aesthetic dialogue inspired by the Song Dynasty masterpiece A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains.
As the curtain rises, the ancient scroll comes alive. Dancers move like cloud and ink, expressing deep emotion through quiet, fluid movements rather than dramatic gestures. The lines, color layers, and light make it feel like watching time itself take shape.
A few personal takeaways:
🎵 The Music: Deep and somber throughout, pushing a sense of tragic grandeur. It’s moving, but the non-stop intensity gets a bit heavy—I found myself accidentally replaying every sad memory in my head! 🫠 Beautiful, just a touch too intense.
⭕ The Rotating Stage: Some loved how the circular setup brought “heaven and earth” to life; others (myself included) felt it occasionally drew focus away from the dancers’ subtle details. Still, a brilliant design concept.
A living painting of immense beauty, reflection, and emotional weight. Breathtaking, even if its tragic beauty leaves you a little consumed.
