Next week, join us for Grassroots Talk: Hope in Hard Times. We will be screening "What About Our Future" which documents the efforts led by the Sustainabiliteens to host the 2019 Climate Strike that brought over 100,000 people to the streets in Vancouver.

UNEP reports show that Southeast Asia produces much of plastic waste in oceans- and that steps must be taken to counteract it. Leaders of Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) founded a program meant to combat marine debris. By 2025, Thailand plans to ban types of plastics most commonly littered in oceans.

At the global climate change summit, pledged an emissions cap on our oil and gas sector. This is a great step, but more is needed from Canada and the rest of the world to keep temperatures from increasing more than 1.5 degrees.
