On September 30, we wear orange to honour and reflect on the history, traditions, and cultures of Indigenous Peoples.

We hope you had the opportunity to participate in some of the events hosted by BCIT Indigenous Initiatives and Partnerships during Truth and Reconciliation Week last week.

If you weren’t able to attend, you can still explore a range of resources at https://www.bcit.ca/indigenous-initiatives/ including:

• Tips on creating a Land Acknowledgement & Protocol Welcome
• Indigenous 101 – covering terminology, the true history of Canada, and the Indian Act
• Indigenous Learning Modules – exploring Indigenous Peoples, colonization, and decolonization
• Indigenous Guides for Post-Secondary Institutions
• Indigenous Work Opportunities

* These are open to both students and staff.

Also, a reminder that all BCITSA programs and services are closed on Wednesday, Sept 30, for The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
