The Knox Walk is next Friday! We're looking forward to all of our students and staff joining together for a 5km walk to Queen's Park and back.
This year we are raising money for the Play It Forward campaign, which has the primary goal of improving outdoor play and learning spaces at both campuses.
The campaign will include:
- Elementary: New Turf Field, Wildness Play Space, Modern Playground
- Secondary: Custom courtyard covering for year-round outdoor access
- Future: Strategic debt reduction to keep JKCS resilient
Stay tuned, an artistic rendering of these new spaces will be coming soon. In the meantime, here are some images of similar spaces to get our imaginations flowing.
Parents and Students, here's what you can do:
1) Create a fundraising page at www.knoxwalk.com
2) Send the fundraising page to family and friends, and tell them about the Knox Walk

The Knox Walk is just around the corner, and the excitement is building! We’re not just walking for fun, we’re walking to ensure students have excellent outdoor play spaces for years to come.
Looking for some creative ways to hit your fundraising goals? Take a look at some of the incredible ways our students stepped up last year!
Need Some Inspiration?
-Lemonade Stand: No one can resist a cold glass of lemonade on a sunny afternoon.
-Snack Box: Last year, some of our students got creative by curating "snack boxes" for friends and family.
-Garage Sale: Nothing sales long weekend like a local garage sale. Clean out your cupboards and raise some funds with a neighbourhood garage sale!
Important Reminders:
-Safety First: Always make sure you have a parent or guardian helping you with your fundraising events.
-Spread the Word: Use your personal fundraising link to share your progress with family and friends! Link in bio.
-Every Cent Counts: Whether it’s $5 or $50, every donation brings us closer to our school goal.
Show us what you’re up to! Send us your photos to be included in the newsletter.

The Knox Walk is Almost Here!
Our annual Knox Walk is coming up on Friday, May 29, and we’re excited to gather as a school community for a fun and meaningful afternoon.
Students will be walking to Queen’s Park and back (5km), and raising funds for our “Play It Forward” campaign, which includes a few elements. At elementary there will be a new turf field, wilderness play area, playground, and more. At secondary, outdoor work continues with a covering for the courtyard.
Families, here’s how you can help:
• Work with your child to get started on fundraising (goal: $200 per student)
• Share their fundraising page with friends and family
• Head out for a few practice walks together
Want to be involved?
We'd love parent volunteers to walk with classes or help along the route and at activity stations.
And yes, there are prizes!
Students can earn individual and class rewards, plus all who raise $200+ will be entered into a prize draw.
Let's make this a memorable 21st Knox Walk as we work toward our $210,000 goal together!

You’re invited to attend our annual celebration of the arts: The Fine Arts Gala! It’s coming soon on Thursday, May 14 from 6:30-9:30pm at the JKCS secondary campus. This year’s theme is “CHEZA!” a Swahili word meaning “dance”. The night will include refreshments, art from students in Grades 7-12, and live music. Attendance is free, and it’s a drop-in event. We would love to see you there!
