“B.C.’s Ministry of Attorney General is reviewing the Family Law Act and seeking the perspective of
Indigenous Peoples who have life experiences with family law topics, including:
• Parents’ and guardians’ responsibilities for making decisions about and spending time with a
child
• Protection from family violence
• Parenting assessments and reports on the needs and views of a child
Regional engagement sessions will be hosted in Nanaimo, Vancouver, Prince George, and Kamloops in
May and June. Those with lived experience are encouraged to attend a session in their region. The
Ministry will provide meals, honoraria, and travel reimbursements to those in attendance.
