Last year we established a scholarship in memory of Dr. Jennifer Tong. We are excited to announce that we selected two candidates last year and will be choosing two more this school year. Please share this information with the appropriate department that helps Students with schooarships, or any students seeking scholarship opportunities.

Dr. Jennifer Tong Memorial Scholarship ($1000)

This Scholarship is in honour of Dr. Jennifer Tong.

Dr. Jennifer Tong was involved in Inclusive Education for over 30 years. As the Director of Learning Support for the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA), she was instrumental in developing and implementing a variety of innovative programs and support services for children of all ages and abilities. She was a long-time member and served on the Board of Directors of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and was a founding member of the BC Council for Exceptional Children (BC CEC). Throughout her life and career, Dr. Tong embraced lifelong learning and was relentless in her determination to see that all children receive the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. She was a tireless advocate for those who face adversity.

The scholarship is to honour the determination and perseverance of a Grade 12 student who has overcome adversity to achieve personal success. This scholarship, valued at $1000, is intended to support students in their post-secondary studies.

Eligibility Requirements:

Student is resident of British Columbia (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident)
Grade 12 student on track to graduate
Student has applied for post secondary program(s)
*Please note scholarship will be awarded on proof of acceptance to post-secondary program
Evidence of perseverance in the face of adversity
