Meet the CLF Team! ✨♥️
We strive to fund innovating liver disease research, while promoting health awareness.
We are SFU students who are passionate about liver disease awareness and want to do something proactive and meaningful in the community! There are many misconceptions and stigmas associated with liver disease, even though it can affect 1 in 4 Canadians. There are over 100 types of liver diseases, yet there is a lack of awareness towards this cause. Join us!

Event Recap: Learning Liver Anatomy with CLF SFU x CAIGS!
On February 22nd, our executives led a fun, hands-on liver anatomy workshop for young girls (ages 7–12) from the Canadian Association for Girls in Science (CAIGS). 👩🔬🔬
Using craft clay and cardboard, participants had a blast building liver models while learning about its different parts and key concepts like fatty liver.
A huge thank you to our executives for leading such a fun and educational session, and to CAIGS for joining us—we loved having you! 😆

Welcome to another segment of Myth vs. Fact Friday, where we bust common myths about the liver! 🤔
Your liver is already a detox powerhouse! 💪😉 The liver performs detoxification by metabolizing harmful substances into forms the body can excrete. Hydration supports your overall bodily functions, including helping the kidneys eliminate waste through urine. Drinking enough water everyday will allow your liver to do its job properly. 💧💧💧
Remember to stay hydrated, folks!

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a relaxing winter break and are ready to tackle a new semester at SFU! 🤓
Kicking us off with the first ✨️ Myth vs. Fact Friday ✨️ of the year:
The liver is a truly remarkable organ! 🛠️ While it’s true that severe damage can lead to long-term issues, the liver has an incredible ability to regenerate itself if the damage isn’t too extensive. However, this process requires your support❗️
Healthy habits like reducing alcohol consumption, eating a balanced diet, staying active, and managing medications responsibly can give your liver the care it needs to heal and thrive. 💚 Remember, prevention and consistent care are key to long-term liver health!
See you next Friday for another segment!

Happy Friday everyone! It's time for another round of ✨ Myth vs. Fact Friday! ✨
Your liver works hard every single day—filtering toxins, processing nutrients, and keeping you healthy. Don’t wait until later in life to prioritize it!
While it’s easy to think liver health is only an issue for older adults, young adults are at risk too, especially if binge drinking or poor eating habits are in the mix. Show your liver some love by:
✅ Staying hydrated
✅ Limiting your alcohol intake
✅ Opting for balanced, nutrient-rich meals
Small changes today can mean big benefits for tomorrow! 💚 We'll see you next Friday!

Guess what time it is! It's time for another segment of Myth vs. Fact Friday! 😌✨️
Did you know drinking coffee in moderation can actually protect your liver? Cheers to coffee for being a surprising hero for our health! ☕️☕️☕️
