We were so lucky to witness one of our parents demonstrate how to make ice cream and share the delicious passion fruit flavor, which is his child's favorite and has now become everyone's favorite! Inspired by this fun presentation and the hot weather, we enjoyed many activities that let the children pretend to make ice cream and decorate it. These activities gave children wonderful opportunities to learn new words, form sentences, share, take turns, and reinforce their knowledge of colors. Plus, they enjoyed sensory play and developing their hand-eye coordination. We're truly having a joyful August and can't wait to plan even more fun and educational activities for the rest of the month!

July quickly passed by, bringing with it so many wonderful moments as we enjoyed our ocean-themed art projects. The children joyfully painted and decorated their wooden fish and sticks to create their own fishing rods, adding extra excitement to our fishing practice. This activity gave the children a fun opportunity to improve their hand-eye coordination, patience, focus, decision-making skills, and grip strength.

Happy Canada Day! To get ready for this special day, we created a fun Canada Day flag puzzle that the children absolutely love to do again and again. By the end, they all knew exactly where each piece belongs. They enjoy working either alone or in groups to assemble the flag, which also helps us teachers support their large motor skills. The kids have fun finding puzzle pieces scattered all over the playground and using the flag to match each piece. They even took home their own small Canada flag, where they practiced scribbling on the maple leaves, gluing, pasting, and reviewing where each puzzle piece fits. We hope all the families are having a wonderful Canada Day! We’re excited to see all the children back after the summer break.

Happy Victoria Day!
We had so much fun guiding the children in creating their castle craft to celebrate Victoria Day! First, they scribbled on paper to practice their pencil grip, then they added decorations like paper shapes and glittery jewels to improve their hand-eye coordination, as well as their gluing and pasting skills. We made foot impressions to form the England flag and included dried grass collected from the garden to help hold the flag inside the castle. The children took their crafts home last week, and they were so proud of them. Since the weather has been so lovely, we decided to keep searching for the elusive bunny that likes to hop around our neighbourhood. We couldn’t believe our luck when we crossed paths with this adorable bunny; we enjoyed observing it until it hopped away. We look forward to seeing the children back tomorrow after this lovely long weekend.

Over the last few weeks, we've enjoyed creating our Earth Day craft and spending time connecting with nature during our walks to the community garden, park, and other outdoor adventures. We took moments to observe, listen, and touch the natural world around us, which helps us stay grounded and find peace. The children where very please with the end result and where so proud to take it home.
