🧡 Remembering, Learning, Listening & Reconciliation 🧡

On Tuesday, our students and staff came together to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by wearing orange shirts and taking time to learn, reflect, and remember.
Classes were invited to add orange ribbons to our backstop fence, creating a meaningful display of remembrance and solidarity. Each ribbon represents our commitment to listening, learning, and continuing the journey toward reconciliation.

Our Grade 2 and 3 students also had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Indigenous presenter Victor Lethbridge at the JBS Centre. Students learned about the history and experiences of residential schools, as well as some of the ongoing struggles faced by Indigenous peoples and communities.

We are grateful for these opportunities to help our students understand the importance of truth, respect, compassion, and reconciliation. 🧡

“One of the best moments today was watching our K-4 students play together on the playground. HFA missed the sound of your children laughing and having the best time catching up with one another! This is a wonderful place to be!”
