Last week, Miss Bullock put up an interactive Thanksgiving bulletin board in our school. Our students reflected on what they were grateful for and added their own handwritten notes to the board.

Here are a few things our students said they were thankful for:
✨ "A house, clothes, food and water also my loving family"
✨ "Living in a country where there is no danger"
✨ "Drawing books because I want to make a comic book or do animation and I need to practice"
✨ "Freedom, family, money, house, and food storage"
✨ "Allah"
✨ "Teachers"
✨ "My friends being kind to me"
✨ "God"
✨ "My safety"

We are so proud of our thoughtful students and love seeing our hallways filled with gratitude. 🍂✨

🍎 Happy World Teachers’ Day! 📚✨

Today, we take a moment to celebrate and honour the incredible educators who bring passion, patience, and dedication into our classrooms every single day.

Teaching goes far beyond the daily lesson plans. Behind the scenes, our teachers are lifelong learners themselves. During their recent Professional Development sessions, our educators invested time enhancing their skills to better support every student's unique learning journey.

To all of our teachers: Thank you for your tireless energy, your unwavering support, and your belief in every child's potential. Our community is stronger because of you! ❤️

Our students have been learning about Canada's Indigenous peoples and Truth and Reconciliation through art projects, read-alouds, and classroom discussions. Orange Shirt Day was started by Phyllis Webstad in 2013. The orange shirt stands for the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children in the residential school system. Today, students and staff wore orange shirts to recognize that every person has value, and that all children matter.

We look forward to extending our learning about Canada's Indigenous peoples with author Rob Feagan in November.

🎉 WE DID IT, EASTBROOK COMMUNITY! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible generosity, enthusiasm, and heart of our students, families, and staff, we officially surpassed our Terry Fox fundraising goal of $2,500! 🏃‍♂️💨❤️

Whether your child bought a shirt, bought lemonade, donated money to prank a teacher, or shared Terry’s inspiring story with family and friends, every single effort helped us cross the finish line together. Because of you, we are keeping Terry’s dream alive and contributing to life-saving cancer research.

A special thank you to Ms. David and Mrs. Okell for organizing this event, and Mrs. Smith for ordering shirts and keeping track of all the donations. We are so proud of our runners for making a big difference!

Watch for more photos and information in our school newsletter next week!
