We would like to thank all of our summer school students for their dedication and hard work this summer, as well as extend heartfelt gratitude to our program coordinators and teachers that spent half of their summer supporting student learning. Summer school has now closed, with the exception of diploma exams.

Our office will be open on Monday, August 10th from 9am till 4pm so that students may return their borrowed textbooks/resources and refunds can be processed. Please note that teachers and coordinators from summer school WILL NOT be in the office this day, and office staff is not able to provide details on marks, course outcomes, etc. If students are unable to return their books on August 10th, they will be expected to return them immediately upon the reopening of school, during the week of August 31st to September 4th.

To all of our summer school students:

We are currently experiencing an outage affecting Sunrise School’s phone lines and internet. A technician will be working to restore service today. If you need to reach our summer school coordinators in the meantime, please email them at the address previously provided to you, or visit the school between 9am and 4pm today (closed for lunch from 12pm to 1pm).

Sunrise School has closed for it’s regular school year. Please note that Summer School will not start until Monday, July 6th. Until then, there will not be staff available to answer calls, emails or accept visits to the school.

If you were approved for summer school but did not complete your registration, payment and/or pick up your course materials, we will have office staff available on Monday, July 6th and Tuesday, July 7th to assist you. If you changed your mind and need to cancel your registration and/or are awaiting a refund, our office staff will be happy to help during the regular summer school hours, which are noted in this post. If you were not notified of acceptance during the month of June, please note that Summer School is full for all subjects, and no new applicants will be considered.

SUMMER SCHOOL HOURS OF OPERATION:

MONDAY, JULY 6th to THURSDAY, AUGUST 6th
9am - 12 pm (closed for lunch) 1pm-4pm
**also 5pm-7pm on Tuesday evenings**

Additional dates for Diploma Exams will be communicated to students enrolled in Diploma courses.

We would like to thank all students who applied, and we look forward to seeing the students that enrolled in July when we return!

REPORT CARDS are being sent home today with all Sunrise in-person students. If your child did not attend school today, or you took courses through distance education this year, you can visit our office before 3:30 p.m. today or between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and Noon tomorrow to receive your final report card.

SUMMER SCHOOL STUDENTS need to pick up their course materials today by 3:30 p.m. If you are not able to come today, you can come by the school tomorrow between 8:15 a.m. and Noon. If you do not pick up your materials, there will be no one available to help you until Summer School officially opens on July 6th.

As we prepare to start our summer holidays, we want to thank every student for an exceptional year at Sunrise. You were welcoming and gracious to our new staff in 2025/26 and showed determination, care for your school community and filled this year with fun and wonderful memories. We value every one of you, whether you attended Sunrise in person, by distance learning or are spending part of your holiday in our summer school. Thank you for everything!

SUMMER SCHOOL UPDATE: ALL CORE CLASSES ARE FULL

We thank all of our applicants for their interest in our summer school program. Due to the increased demand, we are now full in ALL CORE COURSES (this includes all levels of Math, Sciences, English and Social Studies). Our waitlists for these courses are also full. You may still apply for CALM and all other options that we are currently offering.

If you are not sure if your application has been accepted, please check your grasslands email account or the email address provided at the time of applying, or call the school at (403) 793-2025. Please note our office hours are as follows:

Monday to Thursday: 8:30am-12:00pm CLOSED FOR LUNCH 12:40pm-3:30pm
Friday: 8:30am-12:00pm

The Grasslands MHCB team is excited to partner with local community agencies to host Park Pop-Ups throughout July and August.

Join us for fun games, engaging activities and a chance to get outside, connect and enjoy time together. Whether you come with family, friends or on your own, there will be something for everyone!
