Hillendale Perennials is a specialty plant nursery located in Nova Scotia, Canada on the Truro Road; 5 km south of downtown Truro . from various locations.

We produce landscape perennials, potted herbs and salad greens, & decorative Christmas Products. Hillendale Perennials is a landscape plant nursery specializing in container grown perennials (and potted herbs and salad greens). We are a retail production operation; hence all of the plants that we sell directly to our gardening customers are grown at our own farm which is located 5 km south of Trur

SMILE; IT'S SUMMER! - Sunflowers are synonymous with Summer, and today, Saturday, August 15, we have 8" pots of Dwarf Sunflowers available (@ $10ea), at our Roadside Self-Serve (1239 Truro Road, Hilden). Available either in flower, or in the bud stage.

OUR NURSERY IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE SEASON (Except for periodic Roadside Self-serve sales of pots of dwarf sunflowers @ $10ea.). We would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for your support of our small nursery business; we had the busiest season ever, and sold out earlier than expected. HAPPY GARDENING! "IT'S A WRAP!" Our last Nursery open day for 2026 is today, Friday, August 7 from 12noon to 4pm. We will, however, periodically have pots of sunflowers at our Roadside Self-serve Table; as they become available over the next couple of weeks. Available at our Nursery today: pots of dwarf sunflowers; pots of basil, parsley, Greek oregano, and a few other herbs; and a select final offering of perennials: astilbe, columbine, rhubarb, swamp milkweed, irises, daylilies, ornamental grasses, variegated heliopsis (see photo); and a few odds and ends.

ROADSIDE SELF-SERVE OPEN TODAY with pots of SWAMP MILKWEED (pink) ($10ea.); dwarf sunflowers (8"pots); (just starting to flower) ($10ea.); pots of Irises ($10ea.); and pots of basil, & parsley (both flat and curly) ($7ea.). PLUS; a NEW ADDITION for today: 3 litre pots of FLAME WILLOW ($10ea.). NOTE: Tomorrow, Friday August 7 (12noon to 4pm) is our last Nursery Open Day this year. We will, however, have pots of sunflowers and various other products periodically available at our Roadside Self-serve for the next couple of weeks +/-.

ROADSIDE SELF-SERVE OPEN TODAY with pots of SWAMP MILKWEED (pink) ($10ea.); dwarf sunflowers (8"pots; flowering soon) ($10ea.); marigolds (10" patio pots; flowering) ($15ea.); and pots of basil, cilantro, and parsley ($7ea.). PLUS; a new addition for today: 3 cultivars of Irises: ‘Paprikash’, ‘Kogesho’, and ‘Don and Donna’ ($10ea).

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7 (12noon to 4pm) is our LAST NURSERY OPEN DAY this year. Our ROADSIDE SELF-SERVE will be OPEN most days over the next couple of week with pots of dwarf sunflowers, and various other products (which we Post daily). PHOTO: 'CORA LOUISE' Itoh Peony. (Photographed today on one of our pots of Itoh Peonies in the Retail Nursery). Itoh Peonies normally flower in late June/early July but this one decided to be a little different. We have a number of Itoh Peony cultivars/plants available, ranging from $40 to $70 in price; 'Cora Louise' is $40.
