📣 THROWBACK THURSDAY!

We're wrapping up our look back at some of our most popular stories, social media posts, and student success highlights from the 2025-26 school year with a look at some memorable moments from the spring months!

🌷 March: The work of the UCDSB Indigenous Education team continues to make a positive impact across the district by supporting culturally responsive programming and helping embed authentic Indigenous content and perspectives into everyday classroom learning, benefiting all students.

🌱 May: Kindergarten students at Lyn Public School - UCDSB brought social-emotional learning to life through a unique project inspired by a cactus named Spike. Their learning extended beyond the classroom as they visited Swift Waters Elementary School - UCDSB and Vanier Public School - UCDSB, sharing plants, leading activities, and helping students build skills in empathy, communication, and self-regulation.

📅 Thanks for joining us on this journey through the 2025-26 school year, and we can't wait to welcomes students and staff back on September 2!

Back-to-school season can bring a mix of excitement and nerves—for both students and parents.

Here are a few ways to support your child's mental well-being as they head back to school:

🗣️ Talk about how they're feeling and encourage open conversations
⏰ Ease back into school routines with consistent bedtimes and mealtimes
🏫 Help them feel prepared by visiting the school or practicing their route
💛 Watch for signs of stress or anxiety and remind them it's okay to ask for help
🌿 Take care of your own well-being too—when you prioritize your mental health, you're better able to support your child

A little preparation, patience, and encouragement can help make the transition back to school a positive one. 🍎
