Last week we bid a bon voyage to a number of our international students. Safe travels to those heading back to their home countries! Special thanks to ELL Instructor Debbie Wilson for all of her work supporting these students throughout the year and to Mr. Brooks and the TISS ambassadors for making our friends feel so welcome.

At last Friday’s Commencement, this elite group of French Immersion students became the first TISS grads in history to challenge the DELF (Diplome d’etudes en langue francais) exam, and wore a tri-colour cord with their gowns to represent this notable achievement.
The DELF is an official international certification in the French language awarded by the Ministry of Education in France. Students are tested for their competence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
We are thrilled to share that these 10 TISS graduates were successful on the exam, with seven students earning the DELF B1 certification and three students earning the DELF B2 certification. Congratulations to all!
Special thanks to a very proud Mme Earl for introducing this prestigious and internationally recognized program to TISS! We look forward to seeing future generations of TISS students flourish with their French fluency. 🇫🇷🏴☠️

Co-op Spotlight: Victoria Ford excelled in her co-op placement at Curran Reading Corner , a local structured literacy intervention option for students. Victoria was able to increase her knowledge and experience in early literacy through working with the students at CRC this semester, which was ideal because her career goal is to become a speech pathologist. Thank you to Pattie Curran at CRC for giving Victoria this great opportunity.

Co-op Spotlight: Thanks to Vanier Public School - UCDSB for continuing to be a great supporter of the TISS co-op program. In addition to students mentioned earlier this month, Vanier also hosted Lauren Givogue and Emma and Olivia St. Pierre who made great connections with the students while working in and supporting busy primary classrooms.
