JUMP ROPE FOR HEART starts today!

JL Jordan is making a difference. Today the JL Jordan Jump Team helped Kick Off the 2024 Jump Rope For Heart! We Challenged everyone to help raise money to support Heart and Stroke.

As some of you may know it is personal for me.

As a school principal, I have participated in Jump Rope For Heart for many years. It's a great organization and the kids love skipping.
Three years ago everything changed. My husband suffered a massive stroke and we learned firsthand how helpful the Heart and Stoke Foundation is during these times.
Jump Rope for Heart is one way I can give back.
Between today and June 19th we will be raising money, encouraging the children to learn how to skip, and do some fancy skipping but most of all we will be encouraging them to develop Healthy Habits.
There will be prizes and lots of excitement to make it fun. Heart and Stroke.ca makes it very easy to support through their Family Corner with Social Media templates so you can share the find raising link with family and friends. Just click our School Link and register as a family or individual and then share your fundraising page with others. Heart and Stroke takes care of everything else.
The attached handout has more details and instructions.
I encourage you to take this opportunity to get healthy and get active as a family.

Our Jump Day will be Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Due to the weather forecast the J.L. Jordan Fun Day is postponed until Friday, June 7.

Fr Jacob blessed the Pocket Rosaries the students made over the last 2 weeks. He explained how blessed items such as these are filled with the spirit of God. Students were encouraged to place it by their bed or in a special place in their home and say the Rosary as often as possible.

Woven throughout his crazy, amazing show loaded with tricks was a very important message about being an ALL STAR Student!

K-9 unit OPP
Haze and Chip visited JL Jordan today. Specially trained to help police find things. Humans use their eyes but police dogs use their sense of smell.

Students enjoyed a presentation about the upcoming SOLAR ECLIPSE. For 2min and 47 seconds there will be a total eclipse in this area at 3:15 pm. Events at Blockhouse Island begin at 11 am.
Students each received a special set of viewing glasses.

J.L. Jordan Bracelet Club presented the St Vincent de Paul Society with a check for $1398.25. This money was raised from the the Bracelet sales and the Guessing Jars. Great Job Jaguars!

J.L. Jordan’s Bracelet club, a Lenten fundraiser initiated by our Gr 6 girls, has raised $328 for St Vincent DePaul. Way to go ladies. We are very proud of your kindness!
