Today, in less than an hour, a familiar voice leaves the airwaves.
Bruce Wylie, a steady, comforting voice, signs off after 55 years of broadcasting, and with him goes a piece of Brockville’s daily.
For decades, Bruce was there. In moments of celebration and moments of uncertainty. On good days and hard ones. He was the voice that kept us company on quiet mornings drives and breaking news. His consistency gave this community something rare, a sense of connection and reliability.
Bruce didn’t just report on Brockville. He championed it. He believed in its people, its stories, its heart. For 55 years he reminded us that community isn’t just a place, it’s the voices that lift it up.
Today feels like an ending, but it’s also a celebration. We were lucky to listen, lucky to grow up, grow older, and stay connected through Bruce’s voice. That connection doesn’t disappear when the mic goes quiet.
Thank you, Bruce, for the years, the comfort, and the community you helped hold together.
