WNES session will take place at the Northfield firehall.

Next week, our Transportation team will be holding school bus orientation sessions for students in pre-primary, primary and those who have not been transported on one of our school buses before. Families can attend any of these sessions, not just the one at their home school.

Today, on Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day, we celebrate the caring, dedicated professionals who help our youngest learners grow, explore and thrive. Thank you to all Early Childhood Educators for the important role you play each day in building strong foundations for children, families and communities.

Chester District School will be closed today, Wednesday, May 27,2026. Students who are already on the bus will be transported to the school and dismiss at 9:00am.

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the South Shore Regional Centre for Education invites all schools to join in honoring Black Excellence Day, a dedicated time to highlight the brilliance and remarkable contributions of people of Black/African descent. This day serves as a vital opportunity for students of Black/African descent to see their identities reflected, represented, and joyfully celebrated within our community. It is also a call for all students and staff to acknowledge and honor the varied achievements—both past and present—of individuals and organizations from the Black/African descent community across Nova Scotia, Canada, and the global stage. Please join us in celebrating Black Excellence Day through meaningful action on May 15 and by carrying this spirit of recognition throughout the entire school year.
