The principal consultant is Mark Roman, past President and Chief Executive Officer of CANARIE (Canada's Advanced Network for Research Innovation and Education). He served as the Chief Information Officer for the University of Victoria, and Executive Director of Enterprise Systems for Carleton University. Both institutions are research intensive universities with over 20,000 students. Mark has extensive experience with IT governance, strategic and operation planning, project and portfolio management, operational process transformation, and client service development. Prior to higher education, Mark worked in executive IT roles in the financial services industry.
