This week in Rec and Wellness we had a lot of fun with our Summer Sports theme. Our new Support Staff Kaitlin was so excited to work with Chelsi on creating a fun theme for the new season. We played a mix of Baseball, Basketball and Volleyball and even got all of CAB to play in games at the park with us!

CABLC would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended our Paint Night Fundraiser! The evening was a successful night of creativity and connection. Your support helps us continue to provide inclusive programs and community opportunities that enrich the lives of those we serve. We are also grateful to our staff who make paint nights possible! This week in Digital Innovation is all about movie magic! We're spending the week learning all about the history and the behind the scenes of Disney!

Today we practiced our animation skills by drawing Disney characters! We started with Pooh Bear!

This past week in Recreation & Wellness we had a mix of activities including Disc Golf and Mixed Outdoor Games which we teamed up with Community and Culture in. This week we also made two trips to Mohawk Park to play Disc Golf on the course there.

Last night was the official launch of our new after-hours program "CAB Roots"! Participants enjoyed learning about what garden herbs repel insects and created their own natural bug sprays from some ingredients harvested in our accessible garden space, along with essential oils and witch hazel. Journals were given out to take notes over the next six weeks where participants will learn how to make natural tempera paints, build Inukshuks for the peace garden and learn how to use natural spaces for calming, grounding and meditation. It's not too late to join and all are welcome! The program runs Tuesdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm for $20 per session, registration required through Natasha at [email protected] or for more information.
