Today is The International Day of Peace!

Skén:nen Awenhnísera Ohwentsiakwé:kon-Peace day all over the world

Enkatahonhsí:iohste-I will listen well
Ioiánere enkatá:ti-I will speak nice

Ienioken’tà:’on tsi Enkatkáhtho-I will see things clearly
Tekatenonhwará:tons tsi skén:nen í:ken I am thankful for peace

The Rotinonhson:ni Confederacy was founded with the common goal of peace amongst nations. Today, it is known as the Great Law of Peace. The Great Law of Peace is a way of being for the Rotinonhsón:ni people. Under this law we are to put aside any negativity to make room for positivity and peacefulness. The dust fan belt (pictured) is a representation of the tsionerahtase’kó:wa, the great white pine. Symbolically it is used to wipe away any dust, dirt, or crawling creatures that comes near the council fire. The dust, dirt and crawling creatures represent any matter that is brought to council that could harm the Rotinonhsón:ni people.
It is everybody's responsibility to uphold the peace. ---AMBE Language

We would like to take a moment to celebrate and honour the remarkable careers of Reva Bomberry, Principal, and Judy Reuben, Director, whose leadership has helped shape Six Nations Polytechnic Secondary School (SNPSS) into the community it is today.

Through their vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our values and principles, they were instrumental in the development and expansion of SNPSS. Their impact reaches far beyond the walls of our school, touching the lives of countless students, instructors, staff, and families who have walked our halls.

Their legacy will continue to inspire future generations, and the foundation they have built will carry SNPSS forward for years to come.

Nya:węh, Reva and Judy, for your years of service, leadership, and lasting contributions. We wish you both a well-deserved and fulfilling retirement.
