As science proves that acts of kindness benefit both giver and receiver, we ask why some people are so much better at putting others first

The HMLD program is hosting a live storytelling event on January 27th, 2022 at 7PM and welcomes participants from Laurier (students, staff, faculty) as well as the wider community of Brantford/Brant/Six Nations.
The event is loosely based on The Moth (check it out here: https://themoth.org/). Each storyteller will have 5 minutes or less to tell a true story about a personal encounter with nature. No experience is necessary, and the emphasis is on community-building and enjoyment. Storytellers should register by January 20, 2022. Use the following link for registration to attend or present: https://wlu.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bfOPu2yUfWvUQiW. We can't wait to hear your stories!

Artist Marina DeBris started picking up trash on her daily runs to try and clean the beach, and then she began using the items she found in her art. Her art inspires viewers to think about consumption and waste through the lens of creativity and humour.
