The City of Brantford, in collaboration with the Wilfrid Laurier University StartUp Lab Brantford, is pleased to announce the fall 2026 Community Changemaker Program. Now in its tenth year, this initiative invites Brantford residents aged 18 and over to develop and launch programs, services, or events that create a positive community impact. Participants will engage in a complimentary seven-week series of professionally-led sessions focused on project development, budgeting, and presentation skills.

💻 Applications open September 10, 2026, and close October 1, 2026, at midnight.
📍 Sessions will be held at the Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford campus.
📅 Every Wednesday from October 7 to November 25, 2026.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to present their projects for potential start-up funding of up to $2,000. For more information and to apply, visit https://bit.ly/changemakers-fall2026.

Are you someone who wants to cultivate belonging in the City of Brantford? Individuals or groups are invited to register for the Community Changemakers Program, a free six-week course beginning Thursday, October 17 and runs every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford Campus.

This program focuses on community development topics such as project management, budgeting, marketing, evaluation and sustainability planning, and will also incorporate presentations from local experts and in-class mentorship to help develop ideas based on:

◾ Creating cultural associations
◾ Safer-spaces projects
◾ Events or campaigns to support intercultural learning
◾ Anti-hate awareness campaigns
◾ Allyship information or resources
